Pan-seared salmon with a bright, creamy dill sauce made from Greek yogurt instead of cream.
Ingredients
- 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Salt, pepper, garlic powder
- Dill Sauce: 3/4 cup plain Greek yogurt, 2 tbsp fresh dill (or 1 tsp dried), 1 tbsp lemon juice, 1 clove garlic minced, 1/2 tsp lemon zest, salt and pepper
Directions
- Pat salmon completely dry. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Place salmon skin-side down. Cook 4-5 minutes without moving until skin is crispy.
- Flip carefully. Cook 3-4 more minutes until just cooked through.
- Meanwhile, whisk together all sauce ingredients. Season with salt and pepper.
- Serve salmon with dill sauce spooned over and lemon wedges on the side.
Notes
Salmon is done when it flakes easily but the center is still slightly translucent. The yogurt sauce provides all the richness of cream sauce with a fraction of the fat and significant protein.
