Apple Slices with Almond Butter

Ingredients
- 1 medium apple (Fuji, Gala, or Granny Smith — Granny Smith has the lowest sugar)
- 2 tbsp natural almond butter (no added sugar, no palm oil)
- Pinch of cinnamon (optional)
Directions
Core and slice the apple into 8 wedges.
- Spoon almond butter into a small bowl for dipping.
Dust apple slices with cinnamon if using.
- Eat immediately or pack separately for work (keep apple in water to prevent browning — add 1 tsp lemon juice).
Notes
Always pair fruit with fat or protein to blunt the blood sugar spike. Apple alone: causes a moderate spike. Apple + almond butter: much lower, more sustained energy. Granny Smith apples have the most fiber and lowest sugar of all apple varieties.
